READY TO STYLE YOUR ROOM FOR 2023 AND BEYOND?
Below are our top four predicted interior styling trends for the new year:
1. BRUSHED BRASS AND GOLD ACCENTS IN THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM
Have you been loving on the gold hardware, tap fittings and light fixtures? Us too. And we predict these are here to stay. Be sure to stay away from yellow, shiny gold though, as with anything in the contemporary coastal home, soft muted tones are always the goal. Just take a peek at Abi Interiors Brushed Brass Sink Taps and Mixers for how it should be done.
2. ARTISANALLY CRAFTED ART
Think organic shapes, imperfect ceramic mugs and handmade plates. Celebrating the beautiful trend toward slower paced living and more intentional purchases that steer away from mass production, we believe 2023 will see less department store bought home decor with the swap for thoughtful, locally made products.
3. GEOMETRIC PATTERNS
From patterned rugs to arched mirrors and shaving cabinets, we suspect that the simple use of modern geometry will continue to create a contemporary spin on the classic coastal home.
4. COLOURED OR TEXTURED CABINETRY
Think beautiful sage or timber custom joinery all the way to off-white panelled cabinetry in V-groove or classic shaker style. The options for your cabinetry in 2023 will only expand upon these trends, likely with some subtle variations to what we have seen in 2022. Inspired by The Block’s Dylan and Jenny’s kitchen, we anticipate a more modern take on this country style kitchen with panelling pictured by Freedom Kitchens. Although this is more an interior design trend than styling, this does impact the type of decor you will choose to style with. For example, a collection of neutral grey, white or cream pieces will pair beautifully with a coloured kitchen.
So what do you think? Do you loathe or love?
The good news is that when working with an interior stylist, there are always ways to tweak the look to make it feel more like you.
